We’ve all heard our friends complain of hot flushes, mood change, difficulty sleeping, feelings of low self-esteem – great, just when you think you’ve got life under control, it throws you a curveball!
What to expect from the menopause
Women typically enter the perimenopausal stage of their life during their mid-to-late forties and reach menopause at the average age of 51. As well as having hot flushes, memory loss and difficulty sleeping, women can also suffer from bone loss due to a reduced gut barrier integrity, which leads to inflammation. Muscle and joint aches and pains are more common as well, affecting your ability to enjoy life fully.
CBD and inflammation
Studies have shown that CBD can reduce inflammation, improve gut barrier integrity and protect against bone loss. (1, 2, 3,4) In a study by The Rutgers University, New Jersey, researchers found that oestrogen-deficient mice when given CBD, experienced a marked improvement in bone density and had less inflammation in their gut and bone tissues.(5)
A little self-care
Looking after your muscles and joints becomes essential as we age, sometimes one small movement can cause agony especially around the hip area. By applying ice on the inflamed area and using a CBD topical products such as TAYLOR’S Deep Relief Cream with Cooling Formula, can really help. Massage the area on a consistent basis and keep moving with some gentle exercises. You should be firing on all cylinders in no time.
In addition to CBD oils helping mood and sleep, CBD topical products help aches and pains, reducing inflammation and protecting against bone loss. Whilst not all of the symptoms of the menopause may not be resolved, adding CBD to your routine can make living with the menopause more manageable .
